Daily Program Schedule
The following core schedule is made available to you in order to give you some idea of the approximate time we will spend doing various activities. However, we ask you to remember that “flexibility” is the key word at preschool and the schedule may vary depending on the planned activity and the interest level of the children.

CURRICULUM
We are a Christian program based on a developmental teaching philosophy. This National Public Radio feature describes what to look for in a high-quality preschool like ours.
Activities in our program on any given day will include –
Language Development:
Number and Letter readiness are incorporated into all activities throughout the day. Awareness of stories, imagination, listening skills, verbal expression, creative thinking and enriched vocabulary are encouraged.
Art
We offer experiences with art through many different types of materials, which allow children to explore and discover, develop new motor skills and controls, express feelings of happiness and anger, create and recreate.
Dramatic Play
Centers are set up monthly and will be alternated between housekeeping and several other possibilities. Examples are grocery store, puppet theater, beauty shop, flower shop, etc.
Music and Rhythm
Children are learning songs, fingerplays, and singing games. Movement to music increases the awareness of body image. Listening skills are used to help the children develop an appreciation and enjoyment of music.
Chapel
Hearing Bible stories, saying prayers and learning Bible verses is a special way to know God and to feel loved in His world.
Science and Nature
Children are encouraged to explore, question and discover. Use of manipulatives materials, experiments and their five senses help to develop future scientists.
Cleanup and Snack Times
These are social times allowing cooperation and sharing. Cleanup and Snack times encourage children to work and play together.
Math and Reading Readiness
We provide experiences that build foundation skills for math and reading; such as visual discrimination, eye tracking, sequencing, classifying, comparing, sorting, measurements, patterning, etc.
Outdoor Play and Motor Skills
These activities are planned to develop skills and coordination for the developing child. Free play and teacher planned activities are included. In addition a perceptual motor development class will be offered once a month and a yoga class taught by a certified instructor. These programs are geared toward improving a child’s ability to perceive various stimuli in his/her environment and respond appropriately to it.
Classes will also explore:
Communication Skills – developing listening skills, verbal and non-verbal expression and vocabulary.
Cognitive Skills – in the areas of math, reading readiness, science and social studies which will include: classifying, sorting, matching, comparing, contrasting, identifying, sequencing, and ordering.
Social/Emotional Development– will include teaching of self-help skills, encouragement of self-discipline and positive self-concept development.
