Mexico Build Trip

03.24.17 | Serve | by Shannon Cronin

The weekend of March 24-26, a team of nine from Messiah traveled to Tijuana for the annual home construction project. Leaving church early Friday afternoon, they traveled the border to their base accommodations at an orphanage. This was their first year to stay at the orphanage. After a spaghetti and salad dinner, they had some discussion and sharing.

Up bright and early on Saturday, they were off to the site after breakfast. Everything was ready for them at the site, and like a well-oiled machine, they got right to work setting up and starting the construction. They were building a new home for a husband, wife and their son. The day went great and the precision and dedication of the team proved very productive as they completed all work and dedication of the home by mid-afternoon.

"The day was celebrated by traveling to Tecate for great street tacos. The topping of the evening was stopping at El Mejor Pan de Tecate bakery to partake in way too many delicious pastries!" said Steve Jordan.

The trip was made possible because of the giving by Messiah Partners to support Messiah's ministries. A special thank you to the Saturday Morning Men’s Group and their support through their annual rummage sale.
